Today we celebrated Aidan’s and Stacey’s birthdays!! Here is some picture and video of the celebration.

1-29-09 “Good to be Home”

Aidan has been home a few days and is doing wonderful. He is really enjoying the new jumparoo that mommy and daddy bought him for his birthday. You can tell from the pictures and video below:

He is a lot of work but absolutely worth it. The doctors have added a few extra procedures for us to perform on him. Needless to say it takes about 2 hours to get him to bed every night. Mom and Dad are pretty exhausted by the end of the night.

1-26-09 “Aidan’s First Birthday & Mommy’s Birthday too!”

Today is Aidan’s First Birthday (and Mommy’s birthday too)! We did not do much celebrating as we were at the hospital all day and most of the night waiting to bring Aidan home. The hospital was very nice and sent up some presents for Aidan for his birthday and a really nice birthday cake for us to celebrate with. When we were finally able to bring Aidan home he was very happy to be home. He had a really big smile on his face when he realized that he was back home with his family. Grandma and Grandpa Marino stopped by to wish Aidan a Happy Birthday and to drop off some presents. He was so happy and sharing lots of smiles with them that night. Welcome home, baby...

1-13-09 to 1-26-09 “Pneumonia Again…!!!!!”

Unfortunately these past two weeks Aidan has spent in the PICU at The University of Michigan hospital for pneumonia. In general it was not a pleasant stay for us as we felt like there was a significant lack of communication between the nurses and us regarding his status on a daily basis.

It felt like we were in the NICU all over again. We would both work all day and then spend the entire night and every weekend at the hospital. it was not a fun experience and brought back some painful memories.

12-31-08 “New Years Rockin Eve!!”

We spent the night rocking out to some oldies as evident by this video. It was a good time had by all.

12-28-08 & 12-29-08 “Christmas with Grandma Lee”

Grandma Lee came down for a visit to celebrate Christmas with Aidan and the Troxtel family. She brought lots of presents for Aidan to play with. He enjoyed seeing her and had lots of fun pulling her hair.

Opening Presents

To say that Christmas was extra special this year is an understatement. We had the best Christmas this year because we were able to spend it with our son in the comfort of our home. We went a little overboard with presents for the little guy this year. But, you only have a first Christmas once. Aidan also enjoyed spending the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa Marino and Uncle Tony. Grandma and Grandpa Marino went overboard on presents for Aidan just like we did. He had the most presents to open up from home and at Grandma and Grandpa Marino's house. Can you say SPOILED...
